Here are 6 positive things about Covid 19, there is a flip side to every situation!

Whilst this pandemic is a difficult time for many this article is intended as a reminder of the sunshine in life.

Let me know what you think!  After that let me know about any others you think deserve an honourable mention in the comments section below!  So, in no particular order….

1. Gratitude

Gratitude for our health, for our friends and family, for nature, the list goes on and on.  When society sees such a big shift, in the direction of the inward journey rather than the outward, ego driven one, gratitude for the little things comes along with it.  Gratitude is one of the simplest good things about Covid 19.  Make sure you remember this feeling when things get back to ‘normal’.

Maybe you feel grateful for the house you live in or a new relationship you have formed with a neighbour.  You might have done a good deed for someone else or donated your time or supplies to the cause.  Doing these little things reminds us that we are indeed ONE and together we are stronger.

2. Community Building

Communities often come together in times of need, but this time it seems a little different.  With so many people affected, from every walk of life, people from every walk of life are all chipping in.  People form new relationships all the time and now we are all building very new and very strong ones.  You may have never been involved in a community project before, but guess what, you are now.  Even if it’s just by staying inside or social distancing for a short while.  Care and consideration for your fellow human beings is at the very heart of what you are.

3. Walking, Cycling And All Things Environmental

There has never been so many walkers and cyclists around.  With pubic transport a no go, cars parked up on driveways and road sides,  people are rediscovering the bike or a stroll.  From a physical perspective this really could be a good thing about Covid 19 in the long run, the kick up the rear we know we all needed.  When it’s forced upon us it turns out the walk to the shop isn’t that bad after all.

4. Nature Continues To Thrive

Our canal and river waters are clearer, there is less air pollution, you may even have seen wildlife walking the streets.  It didn’t take long at all for the capitalist structures that dominate our way of life to crumble once the virus hit.  They are indeed fragile (let’s hope people see that and decide upon a better way from now on).

Nature however is stronger than ever, nature never stops.  We have come so far away from our connection to nature we forget how powerful it is.  From our own gardens to the forests we can spend more time in nature and we will be the better for it.

There are holes in the O-Zone layer that are healing, fish are returning to formally polluted waters.  Deer have been seen walking the streets.  Nature is reminding us that it endures.  We, as a race, are sadly the major destructive force on this planet.  We are giving it a much needed rest.

5. Our Heroes Aren’t Loved Enough

The nurses, carers and doctors putting their lives on the line usually do so for far less money than many of us make.  Perhaps not some doctors but you get the gist.  They manage risk at a level most of us will never know and save lives daily, and that is no exaggeration.  The help we all need when we are at our lowest ebb has been taken for granted for so long.  Our NHS for example is a thing of wonder, something that the world envies.  Let us believe that these heroes will have the esteem and gratitude they deserve from now on.  Let’s love it and support it 24/7 and not just when things are tough for us.

6. Money Is Only Paper

Regardless of how much money you have you are still susceptible to Covid 19.  The virus does not discriminate between the financially rich or poor.  The ego that is maintaining the number of zeros in your bank account doesn’t serve you when we are all put back on the same pedestal.

For most of us it has been a while since we last went shopping for non-essentials, and you’re still alive!  Who’d have thought it, buying all those luxuries wasn’t crucial to your survival after all!  But maybe, just maybe, the good deeds you have done lately might have just saved lives.   Many would consider this the biggest lesson on this list of 6 positive things about Covid 19.

Realiser

Realiser was born from a dream to be in a realised state, a state of awaken.  To be able to see the most obvious things having missed them for so many years.  Subsequently I wanted to create something to serve as an example of how it could be.  If only we might spend the time loving that we spend hating.  Above all spending the time to be kind to others for no reason.  You get the idea.  I hope you enjoyed the 6 Positive Things About Covid 19!  I will travel around doing what I can and would love for you to join me.  Follow my path here…
